At the base of the three peaks that form the distinctive outline of the commune of Camaret-sur-Mer, a field of standing stones testifies to the fact that this end of the peninsula has been inhabited for thousands of years.
Contemporary with the Carnac alignments, the Lagatjar alignments formed a group of 600 menhirs in 1776 (according to Jean Ogée's dictionary, information included in an inventory drawn up by the Convention in 1793).
